Big Storms Hit our Home!

We went to Kansas City for Thanksgiving. We got to see Katies new place and hang out with family. On the way home we ran into a long wait at the turnpike toll booth. It was so slow going that I was able to lean out the window and take a picture. The sad part is that the sign in the picture says "1 mile to Toll Booth".
After we got home I had a doctors appointment. She said everything looked good and we got our 20 wek ultrasound schedualed. Jeff went with me and we got to hear the heartbeat. A big winterstorm was predicted for this week and boy did it move in! It started yesterday and hasn't seemed to stop since then. We now have about 5 inches of snow in our yard with deeper drifts in places. I wanted Sophy to get to play in it, but it was TOO cold. So I waited until the wind died a little and kept her in a protected area of the yard. She was very bundled up and she had a hard time moving around. At one point she giggled and sat down, then her eyes got really big and she looked at us and started to wimper. She was cold and she couldn't get up! So her daddy helped her out and took her inside. I hope everyone hit by this storm is able to stay inside and keep warm.

16 weeks!

I'm officially 16 weeks along and I feel great. I've been a little sick, but I'm not tired and I can eat again so I feel great. We are supposed to go to Kansas City to visit for Thanksgiving tommorrow. So I have been cleaning and washing getting everything ready to go. I've had to go christmas shopping and get all the presents wrapped up so I will have all the presents for Katie's family ready when we get there. I think I'm almost done, just have Paul's left to wrap. I also got all the christmas decorations up. Well not all of them, but most of them. It looks so pretty in here! In prep for leaving for the holiday I made the whole family visit the doctor. Jeff has been coughing and congested and so has Sophy so I thought it better to make sure we are well before we travel. Turns out I had a sinus infection and Jeff had the start to one, Sophy was the shocker! She had double ear infections, a sinus infection, and the infection had moved behind her eyes too! So off we went to the pharmacy to get the family medicines. We are all on antibiotics and decongestants. Doctor said to call if Sophy's fever goes up, but other than that we are ok to travel. At least we all got a good nights sleep last night for the first time in a while. On the new baby front, I think we finally came up with a name! Of course I can't tell, but I think everyone will like it! It's completely different than any name I've previously mentioned so no one knows what it is! I've started trying to teach it to Sophy, but she's having a hard time with it. She said it once, it was SO cute!
Here's what baby Center says about the new baby: At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of her more advanced body systems are working, including her circulatory system and urinary tract. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails.

15 weeks!

For those of you that wanted to leave baby names I have a helpful tip..... think pink! That's right! I had an ultrasound today that said I was 15 weeks pregnant with a little girl! Yea! How can I be so lucky twice? Jeff isn't thinking it's too lucky though. Oh well. I think he's just too good of a daddy for little girls. Since Sophy is interveted and a drama queen we are wondering if this one will be out going and calm. It'll be fun to see how they get along. So it looks like pink is in our future for a long time. And play kitchens and dressup! I mean really, can you see me with a boy? I know my parents wanted a boy so that Grayson would have a playmate. Oops! I guess Aaron will have to take care of that next time! So that's 5 girls and 1 boy for mom and dad, and 3 girls 1 boy for Tammy and Ron.
As far as health, we are fine. The baby is 4 ounces! Sophy is doing well. We are still on a search for decent diapers since our old ones changed styles and now leak a lot. We've tried Sams diapers, white could, and target brand. I think we'll just spend the money and go back to Pampers. I get coupons from them anyway. We'll I have another Ultrasouns in 4 weeks. So I'll post another picture of the new baby then. I'll post an update on my birthday and Aaron's party tommorrow.
Here's what babycenter says about the baby:
At around 4 inches long, crown to rump, your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. He's busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, which will help develop the air sacs in his lungs. His legs are growing longer than his arms now, and he can move all his joints and limbs. That means his hands are more functional, too. Sweat glands are appearing, and although his eyelids are fused shut, he can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, he's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but his taste buds are beginning to form. And if you have an ultrasound, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or girl!

14 weeks and growing strong!

I snapped some pictures of Sophy in her cute Cinderella outfit. She actually has two cute cinderella outfits, however she didn't fit in them until now. One we got when she was a month old. The other was given to her for her 1st birthday. So now at 15 months she finally fits into them. So here are pictures of Sophy in her cute clothes that finally fit. I used the cool camera feature on one of them. It was before I really figured out how to use the feature, but that's ok.
For those of you who don't know, sunday is my birthday. I'll be 25. I feel a lot older than that. 25 just seems to young for someone who is having their second kid! We also have an ultrasound coming up soon. Everyone needs to start praying that we can see little parts early so I don't have to wait until december to find out what we're having. If you hadn't noticed I'm not a patient person. I'm ready to know NOW!
I'm 14 weeks! It's funny because even with the early setbacks this pregancy seems to be going faster than the last one. I guess because I have Sophy keeping me so busy this time around. Speaking of Sophy...She has been one grumpy girl the last two days. She'll stand next to me and just wimper! Nothing is wrong as far as I can tell, she's just grumpy. Maybe because I've been so moody lately. These hormones of mine are not conducive to a happy home! At least Sophy seems happy today, maybe she'll keep it up.
Here's what baby center says about the baby now: Head to bottom, your baby's 3 1/2 inches long — about the length of a lemon — and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. Her body's growing faster than her head, which now sits upon a more well-defined neck. By the end of this week, her arms will have lengthened and will be in proportion to the rest of her body. (Her legs still have some growing to do, though.) She's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair all over her body (called lanugo). Her liver starts secreting bile this week, a sign that it's already functioning properly, and her spleen starts contributing to the production of red blood cells. She's also producing and discharging urine into the amniotic fluid, a normal process that she'll keep up until birth. You still can't feel your baby's movements, but her hands and feet (which are now half an inch long) are more flexible and active. Thanks to brain impulses, her little facial muscles are getting a workout as she squints, frowns, and grimaces. She can grasp now, too, and she may be able to suck her thumb.

Sophy's bible class

Sophy always loved her bible class. I love how cute she is playing with the other kids and sitting in her little seat cut out of the table. I was inspired by my friend Sara to snap some pictures of her in class. Today was take Daddy to Bible Class day so I thought it was a good day to bring my camera. I think Jeff had fun watching her bible class and seeing how well she behaves. I got a new camera on saturday so I got to play around with some of the new features. My current favorite (I say current, because I just started to learn about all it can do so I'm sure I'll have other favorites as I learn more) is where you pick a color and how big the range will be and the camera only records those colors on the picture and all else is black and white. It's a neat little feature.

Haloween and 13 weeks!

Sophy had a blast for Halloween. She was a little Lamb and boy was she cute. She loved to knock on the doors and get the candy. Then she had no problem walking right on in! Luckily we only went to houses of friends. We went to the doctor today and Her weight has dropped a little, but she is growing over all. She's heathy and happy.
I'm 13 weeks along and I'm feeling fine. I have a small sinus infection, but the doctor gave me medicine for that so I'm ok. I also discovered something other than wather to drink! I found I kinda like the purple rain gateraid. The orange one is ok too. I tried a few other flavors and I did NOT like those.
Here's what Baby Center says about the baby:
Your baby is still tiny. In fact, he's only about 3 inches long crown to rump — roughly the size of a jumbo shrimp — and weighs just about an ounce. Despite the small proportions, there's a fully formed baby inside your womb now. Much more proportional than it was a few weeks ago, his head is now only about a third the size of his body. His tiny, unique fingerprints are already in place. His kidneys and urinary tract are functional, and he's starting to urinate out the amniotic fluid he's been swallowing. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed, and your odds of miscarriage will drop considerably.
