Our Little Climber!

Sophy has become such a climber! As she's grown it's just gotten worse because she can reach more! So now I keep catching her climbing onto or on things all over the house. I decided to take a few pictures of our little monkey on the things that seem to be her favorite to climb on. So here is Sophy the Monkey Child! She has also started saying certain things alot. She started saying "dadu" Kinda like Mork on Mork and Mindy "nanu nanu". Only it's "Dadu dadu". It cracks us up! She says "yeah" a lot too. Not "yes" just "yeah". She'll babble a lot like she's talking about something very important in a different language and the stop and look at you and say "yeah?". It's very funny! She has also started saying "mena mena mena" which just as it sounds is gibberish. It's important to us because it sounds just like Hana did when she was babbling. All you Dallas folks know what I'm talking about! It's like a flash back, only Sophy is smaller.

SO BUSY!

We have been so very busy around here. I feel without any time to post. I have so many pictures to show and so little time to go through them. Between traveling, doing my errunds, cleaning the house and cooking once Home, Sophy's doctor's appointment, and my Homemade gormet party I feel like it's been a whirl wind month. So here's the updates:

Once home we spent a lot of time cleaning and shopping and getting everything unpacked. We Had a homemade gormet party last night. It was a meal making party where everyone came over with their meat and made 5 meals to take home and freeze. A lot like suppertyme, but cheeper and easier. It was a lot of fun having everyone over here cooking. I placed my homemade gormet order today and can't wait to get my yummy mixes! For everyone that didn't get to come we having one at Lisa's house next! You'll have to ask her about the date.
I took Sophy to her one year appointment yesterday. She got her shots, boy she didn't like that! The MMR shot was the worst! She screemed SO LOUD! It was not fun. She was sleepy, but refused to sleep the rest of the day, but she slept well last night! Here are the official stats:
Height: 25%
Weight 25%
Head: 95%
So she's a little girl with a giant head! He said it's a little early to do real milk since her tummy didn't like it, so we are supposed to try again at 15 months. He said since milk based formula was fine she isn't lactose intolerant, but ratehr since she's small it'll just take her longer to be ready to digest milk. He also said she was beautiful and right on track developmentally! Yea! Go Sophy!
It looks like Jeff will be traveling in October, not to Japan, but traveling none the less. So he'll be gone 4 weeks int he next two months! Yuck! Of course he'll have all of december off so I guess I can't complain too much!
Sophy is currently trying to climb out of her wagon (which she climbed into by herself) in the window sill which is NOT big enough for her to fit into. The whole time going "mama, help". Help is the new word today. On sunday she started saying "baby". She seems to be adding words left and right anymore. Earlier today she was crawling under the piano bench and she started crawling on her feet with her butt in the air. With her bottom in the air like that the bench wasn't tall enough and got stuck on her. So she's crawling alone pulling the bench behind her looking at me like "why can't I go any faster?". It was very funny.
I thought I'd add some pictures of Sophy's birthday party. It went really well. She loved her cake. Thought everyone would like to see the pictures.

A little update.

We have been traveling for over a week now. We started off on monday the 7th heading to Omaha. While Jeff worked at the base Sophy and I spent lots of time with Momo and Popo. Otherwise known as Jeff's grandparents. We went to the zoo, boystown, the sac museum, the wildlife preserve drive through safari, and much more! Sophy had a blast hanging out with her great-grandparents. It's so sweet to see how much they love her! And she loves them right back!
On the next monday Tammy came to pick up Sophy and me and take me to Kansas City to visit there with her and Ron, Jeff had to stay to work. We spent time with Katie and Molly and we went to the Children's Farmstead here in Overland Park. Sophy and Molly loved it. They got to go on a wagon ride and pet the animals. On Sheep in particular REALLY liked Tammy! It was funny. Sophy even rode on a goat. I have lots more to tell about our trip and I plan to tell all about it, but I can't put up pictures until I get home, so it do it justice I will wait till I get home. Edit: I'm home. Time to tell the rest! We went to Chuckie Cheese with Katie and Molly on Friday. The girls loved it. I was scared Sophy wouldn't like it because she wasn't to happy with the rides at Incrediable pizza the one time I took her there. This time she loved the rides. We doubled up on Sophy and Molly so that they could ride twice as much! Sophy liked the tractor that played Old McDonald. She kept singing "e.. e.. e.. e.. i.. e.. i.. e.. i.. e.. i.. e.. e.. o.."! It got old after a while. Katie and I took pictures and made sure that we won tickets so we could get prizes for the girls. It was a lot of fun. Good Idea Katie! On the following monday we went to Katies Ultrasound with her. It was really neat being on the other side of things. She's having a boy! Yea. Just what she wanted! Congrats Katie!

A few more pictures

Here are a few more of our portraits from yesterday. They are all so good that these aren't even the ones I ordered! Can you believe it! Just wait to see what we actually ordered. Sophy is doing really well. I was afraid she'd have a tummy ache after all the cake yesterday. I tell you that girl can eat whatever she wants! Tummy of iron like her daddy and matabolism like her mommy used to have.
Sophy is talking up a storm. It amazes me how even if she's not saying an actual word she still sounds like she's talking. All her little babble sounds like sllables and consenants, we just don't understand her! It's the international baby language I suppose. It is just so funny when she looks at you and starts in telling you something with such a serious look on her face. You just know she's trying so hard to tell you something, I just wish I knew what was going on in that head of hers! She's also a lot of fun to play with. She can officially take a few unsteady steps. She loves to hold toys in her teeth and to pick something up and say "this" and expect an answer as to what the item is. She loves a game Uncle Aaron calls "merchant" where she hands you something then takes it back and hands you something else and then takes it back and so on. Often repeating toys in the process.
Here are a list of her current vocabulary:
Mama
Dada
Nana
Baba (bottle)
This
Tish (trish)
Awon (aaron)
Hi
Bye
Uh Oh
Duck
Ducky
Jeff (not said often)
That

Birthday Girl!

Today my baby turns one! She's so Big! I can't believe how much she has grown over the last year. Still not as much as she should have, but I think it's a lot. We had her one year portraits done today. We went to a place called Portrait Innovations. I must admit that I liked them a lot. They are a bit more expensive than I like, but still cheaper than Lifetouch. I liked the portraits a lot, but I still like Film better than digital for portraits even if it does take two or three weeks to get your pictures back. Anyway we don't have to get her pictures taken for at least six months now. It will be a change from once a month or more! Well here are just some of the great pictures we had taken today. I got a disk with 62 pictures one it! Can you believe it?
Edit: I have more pictures, but for some reason blogger won't let me publish them right now! Grrr! I'll try again later so be sure to check back to see them!
Second Edit: Well I got one to load, but not any more! Aggg!

Update!

I haven't sat down to write in a long time. We've been very busy around here. Sophy is as active as ever and we are running to keep up with her. Jeff went away for two weeks to Portugal. He had a good time, but hated the actual travel. I think he was very ready to get home on sunday! Sophy and I toughed it out all alone for two weeks and boy were we glad to have him home! Sophy is one day away from her birthday. It's hard to believe that a year ago I was still pregnant and she wasn't even here yet! In someways it seems like I've known Sophy my whole life and she's always been here, and in other ways I can't believe she's already a year old. It seem like yesterday we were bringing a tiny new bundle home from the hospital! Ok so the last two weeks in reveiw:
Jeff left on a sunday and boy was I sick! I was sick for a full week. On monday after he left Sophy started crawling out of her bed and over her baby gates so I headed off to baby depo for a toddler bed and three new baby gates that she can't crawl over. They worked great. Trish brought her nephews over to use our pool. They had a blast playing in the pool, with our xbox and playing with Sophy. It was super cute. On Sunday I finally started feelingwell again. It was very nice. I had Trish and Aaron over to celebrate her birthday on Tuesday night. Aaron p[layed with Sophy and we all ate a good meal. We had church on Wednesday night and on Thursday I readied for our final garage sale. Jen watched Sophy while I manned the sale on friday and we did very well. On Saturday around noon I was sure we had done all we were going to so Trish and I packed up the remaining stuff. Jeff was supposed to get home on friday night, but didn't make it until early sunday morning instead. So I spent most of saturday cleaning up the hose after the garage sale and cleaning the garage up. When Jeff got home, Surprise! He got to park in the garage too! Both cars finally fit! It was exciting. I made enough in the garage sale to go buy Sophy's birthday present. I can't wait till her party to give it to her. She gets her portrait taken tommorrow and we'll have a little dinner for her. Then her party is saturday. I'm more excited than she is, she doesn't know what's going on! So now we have a week at home before we head off to Omaha with Jeff. That is of course if tinker doens't change their minds about things the night before (they've been know to do that). I guess that's all with us!

A trip out to play, the lost post

(This is a lost post. I just realized that I wrote it and never posted it so here it is:)
Today was a really busy day. We have all been sick around here and finally we felt well enough to go out and play a little. I had my crop that I go to each month that is hosted by Trish and Jeff quested with the boys on WoW. Then that evening I took Sophy to a birthday party for a few of the boys at church. We went to a place called Pump it up. they have a lot of those inflateable things to play on. They had a giant slide, a jump house, a obstical course and a few others. I got stuck in the obsticle course. Not easy to do with a baby!
Sophy LOVED it. She jumped and bounced and slide and LAUGHED! I highly recommend this place to other parents because they allow the adults to get in and on the things. It's nice when you have a little one like Sophy. Otherwise I never would have let her on! She'd end up trampled! All the kids had a good time.

Trip to St. Louis Part Two

Well it took me longer than I thought after returning home to get on here to post. So let me think back to our trip....
On Sunday we went to church with Heather and Graham. It is a nice and very friendly church. After church we went to a dollar shop on the way to the house for lunch. I saw a butterfly net and decided to get it for Heather's kids. LilliAnn and Grayson have recently discovered the joy of catching bugs....a joy I DON'T share with them! Grayson immediately took it out to try his luck with Evie at his heels! Boy were they cute running around the backyard in their Sunday clothes. Sophy has been walking very well with help. She got lots of loving and lots of help from her cousins. I'm so glad that she has cousins close to her own age to play with! It makes visits so special. We ate lunch and then the girls went to a GREAT scrapbook store in the neatest mall I've ever been in. They had a huge children play area and it looked very fairytale-ish. I loved it. After that we went swimming and played games in the evening. On Monday we went to the Zoo, Central Station Mall and The Spegetti Factory. It was a really fun day. The zoo is a great Zoo. You could go two or three times and still not see it all. And I LOVE spegetti Factory. It's the first one there ever was. Even before Spegetti Warehouse. There was a guy that walked around doing balloon animals. He made Sophy a balloon Ladybug. It was one of the cutest things! Sophy loved it! Funny story: On the way home from Spegetti Factory Grayson's Balloon Sword popped. He was sad so Graham asked Jeff to give him a toy. Jeff handed him his turtle and he instantly stopped being upset. He held out his now limp balloon to Jeff and said "Thank you you have my sword now". Jeff just took it with a look of "ummm, do I want that?". Tuesday we had a pretty lazy day at the house. Time in the pool, the guys playing games, and lots of Good food. We packed up and went home on wednesday. Sophy hadn't been feeling so great so I called her in an appointment with the doctor for thursday. By Friday I was at the doctor and Jeff was staying home from work. We spent a very sick weekend at home. Jeff is better, not haveing been hit as hard as we were, and is back to work. Sophy is doing better and she even cut another tooth. That makes 5 now. She sure is happier when teeth aren't coming in! I feel a lot better, but still have an awful Cough. It keeps me up most the night it seems. Sophy however is finally sleeping like a rock. So at least that's better now. All in all it was a good trip, but I'm glad to be home and feeling better. I do have to say that St. Louis is a beatiful town and Heather and Graham are lucky to live there. Congrats guys! Pictures: 1- Grayson and Evie hunting for butterflys in the Backyard. 2- Sophy practicing walking with Evie. 3- The family (minus Aaron and Trish, she wasn't feeling too well) at the St Louis Zoo. It was VERY hot! 4- LilliAnn poses with a penguin...no they don't actually let you get THAT close. though they do let you get very close. That is a fake. Good picture though. 5- Grayson with a couple of Lizzards. Great picture of grayson, but also fake lizzards! 6- Grandad carring a VERY grumpy Evie around the zoo. She wouldn't go to anyone else! 7- Heather and Jeff holding Evie in the alley next to Spegetti Factory. If you look in the background you can see the arch! Beautiful City!

Trip to St. Louis Part One

Well we made it to St.Louis. It was a long drive and Sophy cried for the last hour. Not a fun trip, but we made it without anything worse happening. Yesterday we spent the day swimming, cooking, and enjoying our various hobbies. The Boys played WOW and the girls scrapped. It was nice. Sophy was so sleepy and refused to go to bed because her mouth hurt her. Finally she calmed down and Lo and Behold.....Sophy got her 4th tooth. She has two more trying to break through, one of which I think will happen before we leave. So she is making up for all the lost time! She was really cute in the pool. Heather had a baby floaty and we put her in that and she would splash and spin and laugh! It was really cute! I got some pictures, but I'll post them after I get home, no way to link up while I'm here. Man I would love a wireless camera! That would be awesome!

Good News.

So I know I've been bad about posting lately. I notice I post more when I'm taking more pictures....lately I've been bad about taking pictures. Why? My camera is on the fritz! Sometimes it works just fine, and sometimes it doesn't. It's driving me nutty. I think it might be time to get a new camera. It's diffucult though because my camera hasn't officially died. It's hard to buy something expensive when you already have one. At least for me it is. I'm planning another garage sale (so I can have my garage back) in July. The second or third weekend. Not sure which yet. Maybe I'll make enough then to get my camera.....doubtful.
So what is this good news you ask:
Trish is Pregnant! Whooo Hooo. This is really happy news for the family. Mom is getting her 5th grandchild. Right when we thought that Tammy was catching up! I so wanted Trish to have the next baby so it was good for me too! I was terrified I would accidently get pregnant before Trish and dreaded telling her! Now it's no more worries! So now Katie is due in January and Trish is due in Febuary. Who wants March? Anyone? What no takers? (in the back of the room sits Jeff praying it won't be us)
Jeff got a book from a friend at work about how to get your kid to sleep. This guy has twins and they both take 2 naps a day and sleep all night long. Although I'm very happy for him (ok, only kinda happy) I'd rather not rely on a book to tell me how to take care of my kid! It's not like Sophy NEVER sleeps. She just doesn't take 2 long naps anymore. I wish she did, but it just doesn't happen. She will sleep through the night most nights. I'm still not sure why Jeff thinks this is all such a good idea. Maybe if we had started this from the beginning, but since we haven't...yeah don't think it'll work. After hearing my arguements on this subject he handed it to me and said "well here it is to read when you get the chance" Ummmm, hello, Sophy doens't take two long naps a day and is trying to walk......when do I get a chance to shower let alone read a book? You gotta be kidding me.
Ok that is my rant for the month.
On a totally different note: If you don't watch The 4400, you should! It's awesome!

And We're Back!

We've been gone for Two weeks! Vacation you ask? Well....kinda. Jeff had to go to Shreveport and I tagged along. Jeff dropped Sophy and I off at Grandma's house in Dallas. Mom, Heather, and Trish came on Thursday and we all went to the Arlington Great American Scrapbook Convention while Grandma watched Sophy. It was so hard to be away from her! At least I wasn't that far away so It wasn't too bad! I was very happy to hold her when we got back though! Sophy was great! Grandma said she was an easy baby. I'm glad she was good for her, but I wish she was that good for me! While at the convention we did a lot of free make and takes and did some great shopping! We went to the friday evening crop and it was like a big party with some scrapping thrown in! We got great goody bags just for going and had a lot of fun. I didn't get alot of work done (too many distractions)but the pages I did turned out great! All in all I highly recommend the Great American Scrapbook Convention to anyone who likes scrapbooking, card making, or stamping.
After the convention Sophy and I stayed another week. Sophy LOVED to play with her cousin Hana. They were so cute. Hana apperantly likes to ride like a horse on her brother's back. She would see Sophy crawling across the floor and assume it was an invitation. Before we knew it Hana would stradle Sophy and sit down on her back, at this point Sophy's arms and Legs would go shooting out from under her and there they both would be on the floor. Sophy looking at me like "help?" and Hana bouncy like "why won't it go?". It was very funny. I'm happy for Sophy that she's going to have so many cousins and second cousins so close to her age to play with as she grows up!
We also spent a couple afternoons up at Grandma's office. It was a chance to get out of the house, check my email, etc. Sophy made an uneffective and very cute receptionist for Mastersound. All in all it was a good trip and we are very glad to be home again.
Oh yeah...Sophy cut another tooth. That makes two now. If only she could cut a tooth AND let us get some sleep......that would be great!

Garage Sale!

So this is how my Garage looked this morning.....It's a little more empty tonight. I did go through the house and add some more stuff though. Handbags and organizers and such. Anyway I thought I would officially let everyone know that it went well. No annoying neighbors showed up to ruin my day. Sophy was a bit of a handful during the goings on though. I do agree with whoever said that during the neighborhood sale was the worst time to have a garage sale. People would come by and then decide "hmm, maybe there's something better next door...." And off they'd go. We still did ok though. Just not as good as the last two I've been apart of (wink wink Jen). Jen came by with Ty. She's looking so cute these days with her Baby bump. And I'd have to say Ty was one of the best behaved of the children that came by. Trish brought a lot of stuff over for the sale so I got to spend most of the day with her. It was nice we don't get to do a lot of one on one things anymore. She's also super great with Sophy so that helps too. Jessica brought over her couch to sell and she came by to help around lunch time. We just had a giant picnic on the floor of the garage. She sold her couch at the end of the day for more than either Trish or I made all day! I thought that was awful lucky....or just good salesmenship! Anyway everyone come by and see me tommorrow. Hopefully Jeff will be keeping Sophy inside so that she won't be hanging all over me! Hee hee.
