As Promised.....

As promised I'm updating. I haven't felt too great lately. I've run out of Zyrtech and I feel lousy. I think it might have turned into a sinus infection, but I'll get over it. Jeff came home a little early today because Sophy isn't feeling great either and I needed some help. He's giving her a vapor bath while I get to chill out.
It's been very busy around here. We have been cleaning and baby proofing the house for the last week. It's not perfect, but I don't want it to be. It is set up for her to explore without ruining what's important to me or breaking her neck (aka ruining something that is important to me....).
I also promised I would post a few of the Sophy & Molly Pictures once I had them. So Here they are! Didn't they turn out cute? And for those of my friends who don't personally know Katie (Jeff's Sister) she is now expecting! So we'll have three babies to photograph before long. I've been asked by many if this changes my feelings on waiting to have another baby, and the answer is "NO". I'm thrilled with Sophy and we hope to wait as long as God lets us or 3 years to have another, whichever comes first. So God willing it will be a while till Tammy gets another Grandchild from us! I told my mom that She might have started out ahead, but Tammy is catching up fast! She'll have 3 in January and mom will have 4... unless Trish isn't telling us something......hee hee.
We have simple plans for the weekend. I have a crop I go to on the third Saturday of the month which is this Saturday. Yea! It's the one hosted by Trish and they have childcare and it's free. It's a great time to work and relax! I'm looking forward to it! Any ladies that live around here you are welcome to come. It's at the believers Bible Church in Bethany from 12-6. I hope to see some new people! We have a lot of beginners that come so it's a great way to learn more. Plus you get to use other peoples tools and stuff so you don't have to buy them. Jeff let me get (it's easier for me to order it) the Karen Foster Clikit like mom has for Mother's Day so I'm hoping it will be here before Saturday. I also Ordered so Eyelets and brads for a really neat Site called eyeletoutlet.com . I have been without my camera because we left it in Kansas City on accident so Tammy mailed it to me, so I'm also expecting that to come in. So many packages! Jeff plans to play WoW all day on Saturday with the guys. I think those are all our big plans. I know, we're boring.
So hopefully that will tide you curious people over for a little while. As soon as I get my camera back I hope to be posting more regularly.

Something new.....

I know this isn't my style, but hey we have to follow the rules right? At least I added a cute picture of Sophy. It's kinda old so she's bigger now.

Apparently, my punishment for commenting on a friends blog is that I have to repost this thing.
So here goes:
Comment and:
1. I'll respond with something random about you
2. I'll challenge you to try something
3. I'll pick a color that I associate with you
4. I'll tell you something I like about you
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of
7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on yours

Let's try this out!

So it says I can post on my blog by sending an email to a certain email address. So I decided to try it out and see if it would work. Tammy wants to set up a blog for her and Ron's trip over seas this summer. That way us sad non-world traveling people can read all about it and see pictures and know they are alive and all without them having to send a ton of emails to all of us. Also she said it's be like a travel journel to help her remember all the details about her trip. I think that is an excellent idea. Hey mom, maybe you and dad should do that too? Anyway we thought the whole email posting thing would be easier than logging in to post for her trip so I'm trying it out before we set her up with her blog and send her away! Every now and then I like to know the answer when someone asks a question so I've been know to do a little early work every now and again....I know I know me? Work? Shocker!
In other news: Our trip to Kansas City was great. It was nice to see everyone! We got to see MoMo and PoPo too! They came down for church on Sunday! Tammy and I took Molly and Sophy to get their portraits done. Tammy got a 16 x 20 of her two girls! Heather and I also did this for mom with LilliAnn, Grayson, Evie, and Sophy for mother's day. She said she couldn't wait to give it to her, so I hope I'm not ruining a surprise here. The pictures of Sophy and Molly turned out great. As soon as we get them I'll try to post them! Well that was our exciting trip. I can't wait to see everyone again!

Sophy Update!

Sophy went to the doctor on tuesday! We finally got good news. He said she was growing and was now at 25 % for height and weight and 90% for head! She was at 50 % for head last time and 10% for height and weight, so thats some growth! He said she looked great and that we didn't have to come in again until 1 year! Whoo Hoo! Can you believe we are less than 3 months from her 1st birthday! I sent out the email save the date invites to the family party yesterday! Of course I don't have everyone's email so if you're family you are invited to Sophy's birthday Party in August. Just call me for the details. I've included a picture I used for the e-vites.
We are planning on going to Kansas City for the weekend. We leave tommorrow morning. So we'll be out of touch for a few days! If we have bad weather and your near by check on my dogs ok....oh and don't forget about mingo my web pet, he's at the bottom of the page!

Scrapping

Hello. Sorry I haven't posted too much lately. I have been busy scrapping for a while now. I am trying to catch up a little, I'm WAY behind! And as Sophy is so cute I just keep taking pictures and getting farther and farther behind! I have left all my other obligations for a while now. With of course the exception of Sophy. She as always demands all my attention. So now I am trying so hard to get things caught up in all areas. I have been cleaning the house and doing laundry and trying to get everything back to normal. I have a lot of cute scrapbook pages, but I did get behind a lot. I have added a new special item to my blog.....A Pet! It's cute! So feed it and pet him for me! He also likes to be petted.

Summer or Spring?

It has been so HOT around here! It has been in the 90s! Yesterday it was even 101! I had been eyeing a cute baby pool for Sophy that I was going to get this summer, but since it was so Hot out I thought I would go ahead and get it so that she could enjoy it now. It's really fun. It has a ball toss and ring toss game. A fun floaty and a slide. It even has a sprinkler that shoots water on the slide! Sophy loves it because the largest part is only about 2 inches deep and she can crawl around in the water and play. I just sit next to her and watch. It's loads of fun! Jeff came home to us in the pool yesterday. We quickly took some pictures!
So now that the pool is all set up we can have pool parties with Sophy's friends! Jessica is bringing Ruthie and Matthew over to play today now that the water has had a chance to get a bit warmer. Hopefully my camera will work!
I was going to post yesterday, but my camera is on the fritz and I couldn't get it to work. I finally got it to work long enough to download our pictures, but I'm not so sure it's going to last much longer. It's going to cost $150 to fix it! I think it's time we broke down and got us a new camera with more mega pixels!
So if anyone wants to come over for a pool party just call! The pool is really for 3 years and under, but older kids might have fun too! I sure had fun with Sophy yesterday!

New Ribbon!

I'm Super excited because I just ordered new ribbon! It's coming all the way from China. I was looking for colors I couldn't find around here! It's going to be great! I'll have enough to make 120 bows! Whoo Hoo! Anyway I thought I'd share my excitement with all!

Trips!

Sophy Update:
Ok so with that post about bows I didn't even talk about Sophy! I know most of you (family) really check this blog to hear about her! So here goes! This weekend Jeff's parents came down on their way to Tyler Texas and picked Sophy and I up. They dropped us off in dallas so I could visit with family for a little and think about Jeff being gone a little less! It was great. I got to see Tammy and Ron and spend time in the car with them. Also Tammy got 3 hours there and 3 hours back to look at the baby! In Dallas I went over to Eric and Shelly's for Laurens birthday and then went to church with the family on sunday! It was great seeing everyone! After Tammy and Ron brought us back home they were able to visit on monday for a short time before heading out. It was a great weekend. I'm sorry Jeff missed it, we sure missed him!
On Tuesday I went to the Zoo with Jessica. It stinks that both times I've gone to the zoo with her I've been late! I need to get my act together! Sophy had a good time riding with Ruthie in the wagon and looking at the animals! It was alot of fun! Today Sophy has eaten and slept and played in the grocery cart at Walmart while I shopped. We have Church tonight and We'll spend the day cooking and making bows tommorrow! And that is the Sophy update for Wednesday April 12th, 2006.

More Bow info!

Ok so I got a lot of comments on the bow post as well as emails and calls so here is some more information that has been requested. I have included a picture of the tuxedo bow next to a ruler. It's a little over 2 inches across. The tiny ones are the size of the clip. I use aleigator clips, they work better with the little babies, but I could use a barette if you would prefer. Just ask when you order.
Yes I will Ship to you! I would only charge shipping for what it cost rounded to the nearest dollar. So I wouldn't know until I got the order. Or I could flat rate $5 per orderin advance, whichever you prefer. I also make grosgrain ribbon headbands (yes they stretch! I just found the stretch ribbon here in town!) to match the bows. Those are only $1. I have light blue, Pink, yellow, white, black, and a few more. I am always on the hunt for new things though, so that could change. As with all my headbands ( I also make white lace ones, the lace only comes in white) they are made so you can switch out bows. That way when they are little/you're in a hurry you use the headband with a bow, and when they are older the bows by themselves. It's cheaper than having to buy all new bows later!
I also have a lot of people buying them for their pets. Trish had the idea to put them on the collar for pictures. It looks like a bow tie. Most collers will work , but if you can't find one to work or want the convience of it already done I can get them for you. They are $4.00.
I think that's all the questions answered and then some. Just ask if you need more information. This little venture is turning into a real business! When I can fit it in around Sophy's nap time!

Bath Time!

Sophy loves her bath! We have been so busy lately that Sophy was getting gross! It's amazing how fast that baby acumulates filth! Mostly because she's now eating more solid foods. I'd say only about half of what she eats gets into her mouth! Anyway, here's a picture of Sophy's bath time fun!

Beautiful bows!

Beautiful
Hairbows!

Did you know I make hairbows? I do. I was in the store one day and I saw the cutest bow with pink feathers on it! I turned it over to see if I could get it and it was $6!!!! That's TOO much for one bow for a little girl! So I started my quest to make bows for Sophy. Since then I have expanded and now make them for friends and family as well. I just found some of the cutest ribbon! I thought I would post a few of my bows! These are not all of them, I have tons of the tuxedo bows because I like them best. The feather ones are fun too! I spent a lot of time makeing these layouts on Photoshop so I could show a lot of my fun bows. It was hard to choose my faviorites, and some of them the pictures didn't turn out as good so I couldn't use them. Like the one that is Leopard Print with Black featers or the one that is pink and brown stripe ribbone with pink feathers. Man you spend so much time on something and it's hard not to get attached!
If any of you need a bow to match something just call or comment. I'll try to make it for you as quick as possible, also Darla if you read this just email me what you want and I can mail it to you! I also make Bow holders. I wanted one but they are stupidly expensive (think 250% markup!) so I started makeing those too. Just let me know what colors you want to match the room. If any of you know of fun ribbon somewhere let me know! I'm always on the look out! Now I have to go make a pink and yellow bow for Sophy to match one of her outfits!

Tommorrow is Jeff's birthday....

Tommorrow is Jeff's birthday and he is in Virgina! How stinky is that? He has called though and he says his hotel is nice and he's enjoying himself. So at least it's a good birthday even if he isn't with his family. In honor of his birthday I thought I'd make this entire post his favorite color: blue!
I however am keeping myself busy so I don't think about Jeff not being home. And with Jeff not being home I have no problem staying busy! Sophy is HARD alone! I have such a respect for single parents out there! You are superwoman/man! My friends have helped a lot too! I went to the Zoo with the girls and their babies yesterday. Sophy LOVED it. Though she slept through the end. Then My friend Jessica and her husband Bradley had me over for dinner and games. That was very nice. Sophy was actually very good for being sleepy away from home! My sister was supposed to come visit me this week , but her life is crazy so she wants me to go to her. Well see what happens there.
Now for the person everyone wants to hear about: SOPHY! Sophy is doing very well. I think she's finally getting some fat one her. She has those cute little rolls on her arms and legs now. She is Sleeping A LOT Lately. She'll sleep all night then wake up and eat be up for an hour or two and then sleep for and hour or two, then she's up to eat and play for an hour or two and then sleeps again! We go through 2 or 3 naps a day and she's still sleeping through the night! She must finally be getting enough food in her to GROW! She's super happy when she's awake though! It's very nice for getting chores done around the house, but not so good for going out! This is the reason she fell asleep at the zoo!

Family Update

Sophy Update: Sophy can stand up! She started pulling herself up last friday! I guess it's time to drop her mattress down! She also loves the onny Jump up all of a sudden. She likes to play in it when Jeff and I are in the office so she can see everything going on around her! She's getting so big!
Jeff and Shannon Update: Jeff and I went over budget stuff this week! YUCK!! Who likes to do that? We actually set a nice budget so I think things will get a lot better now. It's been very bad lately. Or should I say " I'VE" been very bad lately! Well that will change!
I finally put a little more effort into my growing Scrap/bow business. I'm very excited about Memory Works! Our new catalog comes out April 3rd! So if anyone wants discounted stuff just give me a call! I have the Memory Works Site Linked to the left so go check out the sale!
Because of the growing business Jeff has agreed to share his office with me so I can have a place to work. So we've been cleaning and organizing for two days trying to rearange things in there. It is a lot of work, but it's nice to feel productive. Not to mention some of this should have been done a long time ago!
Well that's the Family Update!

Messy!

Ok so maybe I should explain these pictures a little. Sophy has been eating solid food for quite a while now so you'd think it wouldn't be this messy! And usually it isn't...so allow me to explain: Sophy isn't feeling too well. She's stopped up with a snotty nose and is fussy, although it's not causeing too much problems around here it did at feeding time. I was trying to feed her Garden Vegitables, not her faviorite by far! As I shove the food in her mouth she likes to pack it into her cheeks instead of actually eating it. It takes longer to feed her, but adventually it all ends up in her tummy...not this time! She kept sneezing and coughing. I think it might have been funnier if I could have taken a picture of me instead of her! I was covered in garden veggies and rice cereal! She seemed to enjoy herself. Everytime she sneezed and sprayed me in veggies she'd laugh and laugh! It didn't help that I found it pretty funny too! So the lessoned I learned: When Sophy is sneezing and coughing, Let Jeff feed her!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy
St. Patrick's
Day!

Ok, So I know she's part Norwegion, but she's also Part Irish....besides, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!
Yesterday Jeff and I took little bit down to the big St. Patrick's Day celebration downtown. We got there just a little too late and missed the parade! Oh well, we still got some fun pictures and got to listen to some good music. I told Sophy all about St. Patrick and how he ran all the snakes out of Ireland and ahe seemed to have a good time.
Oh and for those of you who wanted to know: I have lost 3 pounds! I think I was gaining because I was building muscle! I'm fitting in my clothes better now. I also started Sophy on Formula yesterday. Not all the time, just a little. I'm starting to ween her a little bit! It's so nice to wear normal clothes again!

Doctor Check up!

So I took Sophy in to the doctor for a weight check yesterday. I was very excited thinking that she had finally gained some weight! However, I was apparently only going there to have all my hopes dashed! Sophy weighs 15.8 lbs. For those of you who wonder that is 10th percentile for her age! So it's dropped once again. We are now supposed to feed her 4 solid food feedings and 4 nursing feedings a day and add 1 tab of butter to all her solid food feedings! It's sad when you have to add butter to her food to put a little fat on her.
I on the other hand have the opposite problem! I am going to the Gym (yes, I shannon am exercising...no one pass out from the shock!) and watching calories and still I lose no weight. Well, not no weight, but very little. I'll just keep trying though, because I actually feel alot better lately.
Even though Sophy isn't gaining weight, she is good in all other ways! She is crawling all over the place and I can't seem to keep those little hands out of things! She is super cute and always very happy. We've even gotten to sleep all night a few times lately! It's really much better around here.

Going to the Zoo!

Today I took Sophy to the Zoo for the first time. It was a lovely day and it was great fun! Jen and Lori went too so all together we had: Sophy, Alex, Ty, Carter, and Brady. I thought some pictures would be fun! So here is Alex with Lions, Sophy on an Elephant, and Carter and Ty watching the Sea lions! Don't worry, no Children or animals were harmed in the taking of the pictures! We were very safe and always had a "spotter" for safty! I'm only watching Alex for a few more days so it was kinda bittersweet to go on a feild trip! I've wanted to go for a long time, but this is the first time we were able to go out! I hope he has as much fun at his new sitters house!
Sophy is doing much better for those of you who asked...she is almost well! We are working on gettting her to sleep the night through in her own bed. That has been hard. We're doing the whole "let them cry it out for three nights" thing. It's really hard to let them cry that much! Sophy and i both made it through the night last night though...only two more nights left.
We're going to Arkansas this weekend. I have my first Memory Works party on Saturday! I'm all ready, but a little nervous. Hopefully it will go well!

Memory Works here I come~!

Well alot has been going on. I actually wrote this post twice now. For some reason it keeps deleteing it instead of posting it. So here's to one more try!
I am officially a Memory Works independant consultant. I put the Memory Works Site on my links so everyone could check it out. If anyone wants anything just leave a comment or call me and I'll get the stuff ordered for you. I have my first party in a little over a week! I'm very excited!
Sophy had a bout of sick last week. She's doing much better now. She's finally gaining some weight! We had to take her off the acid reflex medicine , but she's just getting more solid food. Jeff is on a business trip, but he will be home soon. We are looking forward to that. Hope everyone had a happy valentine's day...Me not so much. That's ok, jeff will make it up tp me later!

6 months already?

Sophy is 6 months Old today!
Wow there has been alot going on lately! I took Sophy to the doctor on tuesday for her shots. She had dropped to 20% in weight and 50% in height so he said it was finally time to worry about her constant spitup! So we now have her on medicine and she hasn't spit up in 2 days! It's amazing! She got her shots and has been a little grumpy though!
I had a cute idea from a lady I met at the fabric store for Sophy's valentines/6 month portraits! I made her a Tutu! It turned out great! She does like to try to eat it though! I took some pictures here at home of her in it, but the professional portraits I had taken today were much better! It was a lot of work for that tutu, but totally worth it for the pictures!
I have been scrapbooking a lot lately, trying to catch up! I'm so far behind! Well i hear Sophy calling.....ta!

Playing catch up!

Sorry it's been so long! Life got a little crazy around here this last month! Here's a catch up on everything that's been going on around here:
CHRISTMAS:
Well christmas has come and gone! Sophy left cookies for santa (with mommy's help) and he left her a new exersaucer! She loved it! She got plenty of toys and quickly became a very happy baby. Trish made some amazing peanut brittol! I posted the recipe on the recipe of the week site that Heather and I started. It's super easy to make and tastes so good! Aaron by far was the funny one! He couldn't wait to open presents! He was so excited! All in all we had a great christmas.
NEW YEAR'S:
New Year's is very special to Jeff and I. We got married on New Year's Eve and always look forward to a new Year, a new start, and another year together. We got to go to a wedding on the 30th this year. Brittany murray got married. It was a beautiful wedding and I got to see a lot of old friends, and of course show off the baby!
This year we spent New Year's eve at Aaron and trish's house. we ate food, played games (Scene it...Super fun game!) and watched a movie. By midnight Jeff and I were tired and Sophy was ready to go home. Not the swing party eve we used to have....we're getting old! Ha Ha!
JANUARY 1-7:
Greg is moving out! He's moving in with a friend of his here in Edmond. In a house near Preston and Sarah actually. Once he's out I have to fix up that room! Sophy started rolling. I don't mean rolling over she has been doing that for a while now...I mean rolling....she'll just roll until something stops her. Jeff left on Tuesday morning for North Dakota. He'll be gone until next friday! It's so hard to watch Sophy all alone 24 hours a day. You never know what it's like till all help leaves you!

JANUARY 8- today:
Ok, I've spent most my week Painting and decorateing rooms. Greg's room is now the guest room and the bathroom actually looks decent. Trish helped my paint Greg's room. i really liked having some help. She's also invited me over a few time to keep me from going lonely crazy. I had the girls over on tuesday to keep me company. That was nice. On Thursday i found out that all Jeff's family were coming to visit. 7 in all. He got home around 11pm on friday night. Then everyone came in town on saturday. VERY busy weekend.
On Sunday I found out Jen had her baby. Very sad day. I went to see her on monday and the funeral was on tuesday. That's all I can say about that without crying.
Jeff's family left on monday. We had a good visit and got some very cute pictures of Sophy and Molly. Sophy now likes to sit and say "Ba Ba Ba Ba". it's super cute.

A Sad Trip to Dallas

So Jeff, Sophy, and I went to Dallas yesterday. My great grandmother died on saturday so we went down for the funeral. She lived a long life and it really was more of a celebration of her life than a sad day. It honestly was the most uplifting funeral I've ever been to. The best part was seeing all the family. We haven't all been together since my wedding...and I was a little distracted at that occasion. Also Since Heather and Graham wouldn't be able to come down for christmas it was a nice chance to see them. We of course took the oppertunity for a family picture.
Thanks to everyone who prayed for my great grandmother and my grandmother. Also thank you for the flowers and cards. It meant very much to all of us.

Let it Snow!

It's snowing! I love the snow. There should be no cold weather without snow in my opinion! I bundled Sophy in the cute coat mom picked out and out intot he snow we went for her first pictures in the snow! Super cute! Ihope the snow just keeps piling up! Boy I've got a lot of scrapbooking to do now! I also took some christmas pictures of Sophy. She's just too cute!

What to feed the baby?

Well we've now moved on down the road from rice cereal to mashed carrots...yummm! Sophy gave me the best look of "what did you just put into my mouth?" when we started them yesterday. She did seem to like them after a while though. I made her food myself. I got a handout from the doctor on how to make your own baby food. It was very helpful. I made baby carrots this time, next we try bananas, then peas or green beans, then applesauce. After that I might have to buy a few of her meals. I'm not sure about my ability to puree meat and not be sick...let alone feed it to her! Carrots...I can handle carrots. It's a LOT cheaper to make your own! My goodness for the cost of 2 jars I made 8 jars worth! Of course I'm going to have to buy a few jars of baby food just for the jars! My bottle warmer will warm baby food, but you need the little jar for it to work. I can use the microwave, but it doesn't evenly heat the food, and it tends to be too hot! I'll try to post a picture of Sophy's adventure with carrots soon. I'm having problems with my pictures right now. Hopefully I'll get it fixed soon!

Fun with Food!

Not too much is going on right now. We helped Kris and Nicki move (kinda) today and got to see their new house. It's very nice. Also I thought I'd share a cute picture of Sophy enjoying solid food!
